A great day was had by all, competitors and spectators.  This was all down to the hard work and organisation of the Parents Committee and the many senior basketball players who helped out on the day with catering and  table officials.  Many thanks also to Marie O’Toole and John Byrne  whose tireless work and support make Pres basketball what it is.  A big thanks also goes to Ms. Flynn and Mr. Fleming (Staff).

This year’s Parents Association Golf Fundraiser for the  College takes place on Friday 10th May 2013 in Bray Golf Club.  This year’s golf event is a 12 hole scramble (teams of 4) .  A meal and entertainment will follow starting at 8.30p.m.  Full details can be had by clicking on the link below.

Céiliúradh Seachtain na Gaeilge i gColáiste na Toirbhirte ón 7ú lá go dtí an 15ú de Mhárta. Bhain na daltaí go léir taitneamh as na himeachtaí go léir a bhí eagraithe dóibh le linn na seachtaine.

Thosaigh sé ar an Deardaoin le dráma ‘Focal Point’ don chúigiú bliain.

Ar an Máirt bhí tráth na gceist bóird ag an triú agus an cúigiú bliain

Ar an gCéadaoin ghlac daltaí ón séú bliain páirt i gcómortas peile ar an bpáic uile-aimsire. Ní raibh cead acu ach an Ghaeilge amháin a usáid. Cé go raibh sé dúshlánach dóibh, bhain sí an-taitneamh as. Tar éis cluiche ceannais corraitheach tháinig foireann Ms. Dillane amach mar bhuaiteoirí.

Ar an Deardaoin bhí comórtas peile ar siúl don chéad bhliain. D’éirigh go hiontach leis an imeacht seo chomh maith. Bhí áthas an domhain ar lucht 1.4 nuair a tháinig siadsan amach mar bhuaiteoirí ar deireadh.

Ar an Aoine cuireadh deireadh leis an tseachtain iontach le lá glas ag ceiliúradh na gaeilge agus ag spreagadh na ndaltaí rud glas a chaitheamh, an ghaeilge a labhairt agus taitneamh a bhaint aisti. Chomh maith leis sin, chuaigh an dara bliain ar thoraíocht taisce. Cé go raibh siad spíonta amach ag an deireadh bhain siad an-sult as an imeacht.

Ms. Blount’s second year CSPE class 2.2 organised a fundraising event for Bray Lakers by having a non-uniform day on the 12th April 2013.  Most students showed up in the usual attire of hoodies and jeans though there were some more creative outfits around.  A version of Spiderman was seen to be  wandering the halls at one stage.

However the talk of the day was about a group of 6th years who showed us what they may look like as the executives of the future, some more dapper than others.  They are pictured here with Mr. Gorman their English teacher.

Many thanks to everybody who participated and contributed.  A total of €686 was raised which will go towards the Bray Lakers “New Building Fund”

Next week they take on Clara of Offaly in the Leinster Final.  Date & Venue to be confirmed.
