Through a Social Justice and Art project, Transition Year students of Presentation College, Bray, Co. Wicklow have been exploring the issue of Child Soldiers. Having viewed the controversial ‘KONY2012’ viral video, rather than get into the various debates about Kony himself and the credibility of Invisible Children as an organisation, the group focused on the issue at hand and began asking questions such as: is it OK that this happens to thousands of children worldwide? Well done to the U19′s who are continuing their successful season with a win over Douglas Community School Cork in the semi-finals of the All Ireland Cup. In a closely fought and exciting match they eventually came out on top by 102 points to 99. The final will take place in the National Basketball Arena, date to be confirmed.

Under 19s Crowded Leinster League Champions! The Pres Under 19′s were crowned Leinster League Champions this week for the first tie in the College’s history, with a 53 points to 51 victory over St. Fintan’s, Sutton. It was a very exciting game with a nail-biting finish. St. Fintan’s had a throw in the dying seconds of the game to draw the match but the full time whistle was blown before the ball dropped in the basket.
